Nicholas Pilapil is a Filipino American playwright. His plays include God Will Do The Rest (world premiere with Artists at Play and Latino Theater Company), The Bottoming Process (world premiere with IAMA Theatre Company, Victory Gardens Ignition Festival of New Plays), and if all that You take from this is courage, then I've no regrets (winner of the Samuel French Off Off Broadway Festival). His plays have been developed with Geffen Playhouse, Abingdon Theatre Company, American Stage, Becky and Baldwin, CIRCA Pintig, Ensemble Studio Theatre/LA, Fresh Produce’d LA, Playwrights Foundation, Theatre Rhinoceros, The Fountain Theatre, The New Cosmopolitans, The Vagrancy, and The Workshop Theater.
Nicholas' collection of monologues, Other Monologues, is a winner of The Astringent Award and is published by Astringent Press. His work is also published by Samuel French, Smith & Kraus, and Kuweno Co. In film, his short I Don't Love You was hailed by Philippine News as "the laugh-out-loud funny film of the evening" at the Philippine International Film Festival and called "Hilarious...laughs from beginning to end" by That's My Entertainment at the Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival.
Nicholas is a member of Boston Court Pasadena's Playwrights Group and is an alum of The Writers' Room at the Geffen Playhouse, IAMA Theatre Company's inaugural Under 30 Playwrights Lab, The Vagrancy Playwrights Group, Playground-LA, and artEquity.
